Ali & Nino
Every ten minutes two eight-metre lovers move towards each other, pass through one another and part — all night long.
Tamara Kvesitadze's sculpture tells the story from the novel 'Ali and Nino': an Azerbaijani boy and a Georgian girl, love across borders and war. The steel figures glide slowly in circles, meet, merge for a moment into one — and separate again.
See it after dark when the lights come on: a full cycle takes about ten minutes. It stands on the new boulevard right by the water — fold it into an evening walk.
