The seaside boulevard
Seven kilometres along the sea that Batumi has been proud of since 1881: palms, bike lanes, bars on the sand and fountains dancing to music.
The boulevard is the city's living room: morning runners, daytime cyclists and scooters, and in the evening the whole town out for a stroll. The old section is colonnades, magnolias and cafés under the pines; the new one stretches south with wide lawns and art objects.
On summer evenings the 'singing fountains' by Ardagani lake put on a free half-hour light show. Grab a bike from the BatumVelo city rental — the lane runs the entire seafront.
